Demos and Trunk Shows

Demonstrations and Trunk Shows at the Quilt Show and Sale

The Quilt Show and Sale is, of course, an excellent event to view, marvel at and browse through the tremendous display of quilts, explore the hundreds of hand made items in the boutique or shop at one of the many merchants at the event. But it is also an opportunity to take part in a lecture, demonstration or trunk show about various topics from a talented member of our Guild.

We are so fortunate to have secured the following presenters. Just click on the presenter’s name to see their bios:

Friday June 7 at 10:30 AM - Patti Dance will be presenting “Fabric Bowls”. These are just awesome works of art.

Friday June 7 at 1 PM - Janet Finch will be presenting on “Art Quilting and Dying Fabric”. She is well known across Canada for her talents in these areas.

Friday June 7 at 3 PM - Debbie Scheibel will be demonstrating the “EQ system”. She definitely has the skills to demonstrate this system, so come and be amazed.

Saturday June 8 at 10:30 AM - Elona Namor will be presenting “Bag Creations and Bag Patterns”. She is extremely talented and you will be amazed.

Saturday June 8 at 1PM - Betty Kozak will be giving a trunk show on “Her quilting journey”. She has a vast array of skills and talents, so this is going to be an entertaining event for sure.

Saturday June 8 at 3 PM - Lynne Schroeder will be demonstrating “Rulers, Rulers and more Rulers”. I don’t know of a quilter than doesn’t enjoy a ruler or two, so come and learn.

Sunday

Sunday will have a different format. We will have two time slots of 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and then again from 1 PM until 2:30 PM in which we will have a variety of our members doing live demonstrations of various quilting techniques and tips. You will get a chance to get up close and personal with each of the presenters to see how things are done. Topics will include binding techniques, trapunto, various different disappearing patches, printing photos on fabric as well as other various topics.

Please join us on the second floor of the arena and take part in the events Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or all three.  It is a good chance to rest your feet and learn a new technique. During the Show and Sale we will be announcing these events regularly.
