Thunderbird E-Mail Client
Some of you are struggling with the new webmail interface for @quilthouse.ca e-mail. I'm going to admit my prejudice here and recommend that you download and install the free Thunderbird e-mail client to manage your Guild e-mail account. I've been using it for years, maybe even decades now, and I've always found it easy to use. So easy in fact that I am currently managing 7 accounts (including a G-Mail account) with it.
Our web host supports Thunderbird and if you want to try it, I will support you as well.
Configuration settings are as follows:
Username: your guild e-mail address
Password: the account's password
Incoming Server: mail.quilthouse.ca
IMAP Port: 993 or POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing (SMTP) Server: mail.quilthouse.ca
SMTP Port: 465
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
Authentication Method: Normal password
If you choose IMAP, all mail stays on the mail server until you choose to delete it. If you choose POP3, all mail is downloaded from the mail server to the client and now resides on your computing device.
Benefit of IMAP: You can access the mail through webmail and all computing devices you use.
Benefit of POP3: Works well with dial up internet connections, but most of us don't use dial up anymore...
